- Dressing and undressing a newborn gently and efficiently
Feeding Support & Nutrition
- Understanding hunger and satiation cues in newborns
- Bottle feeding: correct positioning, pacing, and sterilisation
- Assisting with breastfeeding — how to support (not replace) the mother
- Preparing and storing formula and expressed breast milk safely
- Recognising feeding difficulties and when to seek professional help
Newborn Safety & Sleep
- Creating a safe sleep environment — back to sleep, firm mattress, no loose items
- Soothing techniques for a crying baby — the 5 S's and beyond
- Infant-proofing the home and safe product use
- Recognising signs of illness: fever, jaundice, breathing irregularities
- Basic infant first aid and what to do in an emergency
