Questions mothers ask us most
Straight answers about how Singjoy cares for you and your baby, what we cook for you, and how booking works. If your question is not here, our team is a message away.
Care for mother and baby
Who looks after my baby at Singjoy?
Your baby is cared for by a dedicated Singjoy nanny from our strictly trained nanny team. Our nannies have more than eight years of experience on average. Singjoy does not staff nurses; our care is nanny-led, and we help you reach qualified healthcare professionals whenever a medical question comes up.
Is care one-to-one, or is there a shared nursery?
Care is one-to-one. Singjoy does not run a shared nursery, so your baby stays with you and your dedicated nanny rather than in a room with other newborns. You always know who is caring for your baby.
How does care work through the night?
Newborns need help around the clock, and so do tired mothers. Night support is part of your care plan, arranged so that you can rest and your nanny can rest too. Because care is one-to-one, there is no shared-nursery shift handover to worry about. Ask our team how night support is arranged for your package.
What care do I receive as the mother?
We put mothers first. Our guiding words are nurture, heal and empower: rest, nourishing meals, recovery and wellness sessions, feeding support and time to build your confidence with your baby. Our care supports your recovery but is not medical treatment, so please follow your doctor's advice for any medical concerns.
Is breastfeeding support available?
Yes. During a stay at our residences, IBCLC lactation support helps with latching, expressing and building a feeding routine. Formula and mixed feeding are supported just as respectfully, with no pressure to feed one particular way.
What happens if my baby or I feel unwell?
Tell your nanny or our team straight away. Our nannies are trained to notice changes and will help you contact your doctor or other qualified healthcare professionals quickly. Singjoy does not diagnose or treat medical conditions, so medical decisions always stay with your healthcare providers.
Feeding and meals
Who prepares my confinement meals?
Your meals are cooked by Singjoy's own in-house kitchen, not an outside caterer. That lets us adjust dishes to you rather than serving everyone an identical menu.
Can meals be adjusted for allergies or preferences?
Yes. Before you arrive, we send you a questionnaire about allergies and food preferences. Our kitchen uses your answers to customise your meals. If anything changes during your stay, let the team know so the menu can be reviewed.
What are the meals like?
Our menus draw on traditional confinement food wisdom, prepared with a modern, balanced approach and tailored to your questionnaire. You can see more about our approach and sample dishes on our Confinement Meals page.
Do I need to breastfeed exclusively to receive support?
No. Breastfeeding, formula feeding and combination feeding all receive practical support from your nanny, including preparation, sterilising, storage and feeding routines. Your feeding plan is your decision.
Booking, stay and home service
When should I book?
Many mothers contact us during pregnancy, once they have an estimated due date. Availability depends on location and dates, so the earlier you reach out, the more options you have. Send us your due date on WhatsApp and we will check availability.
How much does a stay cost?
Prices depend on the location, room and package you choose. Please see our pricing page for current rates, and ask our team for a written quote for your dates so you can see exactly what is included.
What about deposits, cancellations, visitors or twins?
These arrangements can vary by location, package and circumstances, so we do not list one fixed policy here. Ask our team before you book and we will confirm the terms that apply to you in writing.
Can a Singjoy nanny care for us at home instead?
Yes. Our Nanny to Your Home service brings a trained Singjoy nanny to your home. What a home plan includes is different from a residence stay and can vary, so please check the Nanny to Your Home page and confirm the inclusions for your plan with our team.
Are residence services such as IBCLC support included in the home plan?
Not automatically. IBCLC support, in-house meals and wellness sessions are described as part of our residence stays. Home plans are arranged separately, so ask our team which services, if any, can be added to your home plan.
Where are Singjoy's residences?
We care for families at residences in Singapore, with branches in Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok. Our Confinement Center page shows the current Singapore options, and our team can advise which location suits your dates.
A note on policies
Inclusions, availability and terms can differ by location, package and dates. Please treat these answers as general guidance and ask our team to confirm the details for your booking in writing. Our services support your recovery and do not replace advice from your doctor.
Still have a question?
Tell us your due date, location and what matters most to you. We will reply with the details that apply to you.
