Preparing for your stay at a confinement centre should be exciting, not stressful. While Singjoy provides comprehensive amenities — including baby essentials, toiletries, and all linens — there are a few personal items that can make your suite feel more like home.
We've put together this practical checklist based on feedback from hundreds of mothers who have stayed with us. Here's what to pack and what to leave behind.
Clothing Essentials
- Nursing-friendly tops and dresses — button-down or wrap styles make breastfeeding easier. Pack 4–5 sets for a 28-day stay.
- Comfortable lounge pants — soft, stretchy fabrics with elastic waistbands are ideal for postpartum comfort.
- Nursing bras — bring at least 3 for rotation. Choose ones without underwire for comfort.
- A warm cardigan or shawl — hotel rooms can be air-conditioned; layering helps regulate your body temperature.
- Non-slip slippers — for walking around the suite and common areas safely.
Personal Care Items
- Your preferred skincare and toiletries — while we provide basics, your own products can feel more comforting.
- Nipple cream — a must-have for breastfeeding mothers, especially in the early days.
- Maternity pads — we provide these, but some mothers prefer a specific brand.
- Hair ties and a headband — practical for keeping hair away during feeding and nappy changes.
Comfort Items
- Your own pillow — if you have a pregnancy or nursing pillow you love, bring it along.
- A small Bluetooth speaker — for soothing background music or white noise.
- Books, magazines, or a tablet — for downtime between feeds (you'll have more than you expect!).
- Snacks — while our meals are comprehensive, a few personal treats can be comforting.
What You Can Leave at Home
At Singjoy, we provide all baby essentials — including diapers, wipes, baby clothes, swaddles, and bathing supplies. You do not need to pack any items for your baby unless you have a sentimental item you'd like to have nearby.
We also provide towels, bath robes, bed linens, and daily housekeeping, so you can pack lighter than you might expect.
A Final Tip
Pack your hospital bag and confinement bag separately. Your confinement bag can be sent ahead to your suite before your arrival — our concierge team will have everything set up and ready for you.
